Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Female | unspayed | 7 months and 30 days old | 15 lbs

So my bunny has something wrong with her ear. I've cleaned it out twice now. It's been bothering her and she's been scratching it until it bleeds. Im not sure what to do. It's got some ear wax build up in it. I'm a first time rabbit owner. Shes been acting completely normal nothing's changed with her behavior. But the ears still got some problems I'm concenered because i don't know if it's serious or not please help and let me know if there's anything you suggest

Thanks for reaching out about Thor. Ear mites or infections can be pruritic (itchy) to the point of bleeding. A veterinary visit is recommended to assess and provide a diagnostic/treatment plan, as each are a different medication. Don't attempt to clean it out as this could cause more bleeding. If mites, all rabbits need to be treated.
Good luck.
