My bunny isn't acting herself after being fixed. Is this normal?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Female | spayed | 11 months and 21 days old

My bunny was just fixed yesterday and they gave her a 72 hr pain med. Last night she was pretty out of it and today she is just not acting herself. She HAS eaten and deficated but she is not the active and happy bunny she usually is. Instead, she seems depressed and stays in the back of her habitat. I am worried that something is wrong.

Spaying is a major abdominal surgery, and it's not surprising that Harley isn't very active. It's good that she is eating and defecating, so just keep an eye on her for now. If she isn't more active tomorrow, give her vet a call.
