Is bird cage cleaner safe and effective for cleaning ferret cages?

However, I have personally used it in the past in my own hamster’s cage. In my experience there was no problem as long as I rinsed and dried the cage well. I hope this helps! The short answer is yes, but....... if there is a wire bottom to the cage then that is not recommended as it will cause sores on the ferret's feet. You can put something down to cover the wire or you can just try to get a cage with a smooth bottom. Hope this helps. Thanks for reaching out. The answer is, depends on the dish soap. Wildlife groups have been using Dawn dish soap on oil spill birds for decades. It is assumed they are rushing to treat lots of animals in a hurry, and therefore not getting a thorough rinse. They probably ingest some, but seem to do okay. Good luck.

Hello. I would use either Nature's Miracle of just plain old white vinegar. For the hard scale, just soak your pans in the vinegar & rinse. Otherwise, just put the vinegar in a spray bottle & clean as often as needed. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

Well, the website say yes. But trying to mask the odor of urine probably means you just need to clean the cage more often. The ammonia in urine can be very harsh on the lung tissue, and the hamster is living at the level of the fumes. Hamster cages just need to be spot cleaned daily to remove the urine soaked substrate. Interview cleaners and let them know you have birds. Ask what products they use, and if they are safe around birds. More than likely, you will have to take the birds out of the house while the carpets being cleaned, and bring them back in when the carpets are dried. You could board them with a vet during this time, and that way, they would be safe. Once the carpets are fully dry, it's safe to bring them back home.

In general, ferrets do not require bathing unless they have gotten into something out of the ordinary. If you are going to bathe them naturally, I would use a 1:1:1: mixture of oatmeal, warm water, and baking soda.
