Thanks for reaching out about Terra. Reptiles can often use melanin pigments as a form of the immune system. A minor wound such as scratch could of being the original trauma, Terra's immune system moved melanin to the area as a way to fight an infection. If the lesion gets bigger, a veterinary visit is recommended. Good luck.

Basically it could be an infection or a trauma, it sounds like she was in a great deal of pain, i would recommend taking her to a reptile vet as she might need an antibiotic course and some pain medications.

As long as it isn't bleeding or spreading, you can try managing it at home. Clean it with diluted betadine or chlorhexidine solution. Let it dry then apply a dab of triple antibiotic ointment. Use paper towels for substrate and change them daily until the spot heals. If it doen't heal, see your veterinarian or an experienced herp vet. For the glass surfing, try rearranging the enclosures. Confirm proper environmental parameters. Survey the area around them for any negative stimuli. Eliminate or decrease any if found. You can tape a tank surround (or paper) on the sides to limit views and reflections.

Poor Rosie! She may be shedding or she may have a localised infection or potentially it could be the result of a trauma. A check up is absolutely needed in these cases to determine the underlying cause of the problem and give appropriate treatment. Antibiotics may be needed. Thanks for reaching out about Jasper and including a photo. This limb is necrotic tissue and non-viable. A veterinary visit is needed as this limb needs to be amputated before infection spreads further. Systemic antibiotics might slow spread but will not cure the limb. Sorry.
