My Amazon tree boa has white scales with red specks. Is it a wound?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Reptile | Boa Constrictor | Female | unspayed | 0.1 lbs

I have an amazon tree boa that has a spot on her side where all the scales are turning white with red specks around it. Is this just color development or something more serious?

This has the appearance of a wound or thermal injury that is just about healed. Keep an eye on it. If it gets worse, then have her examined by your veterinarian or a vet experienced in treating reptiles.
