My betta fish has a skin gap from injury. Will it heal and grow back?

My betta damaged his skin real bad getting stuck in decor that wasnt ment for him...hes got a gap in his skin and I got him free but dont know wat else to do...can he heal and it grow bak?

Thanks for reaching out. Fish heal pretty well but depends on the gape in the skin. But the important part is keeping the water as clean as possible, to decrease contamination of the wound. Make sure the nutrition level is high (fresh food). If the wound becomes angry or you notice white fluffy lesions (likely fungus), seek an examination with a veterinarian. If the wound is wide, seek a veterinarian sooner.
