Why is my 3-month-old Yorkie shivering and not eating or drinking?

I'm quite concerned that Whitey is shaking, and won't eat or drink. I'm not so concerned about his nose being dry and warm, as that isn't a sign of illness in dogs. Given his young age and his current symptoms, I think it's best he sees a vet immediately. Please take him into one now.

Hello, sorry to hear about your pup. There are several causes for increased drinking and decreased appetite. However, it may be that he is just a bit cold. Some other causes could include anxiety. Finally underlying metabolic diseases such as kidney disease, cushings, hypothyroidism, or other forms of GI disease may cause this as well. If he continues to do this then he should be evaluated by a veterinarian. Diagnostics may include bloodwork, an abdominal x-ray, or even an ultrasound. Hope this helps and best of luck.

Sprinkles could have a uterine infection, mild herniated disc in her back or even a mild case of pancreatitis. As long as she is eating and drinking and acting 100% normal you may be ok to watch her for another day or so. But if she gets worse, has decreased activity/energy, or stops eating/drinking or has a vaginal discharge she needs to get checked out by her veterinarian. Do not give any human medication as it can be very toxic to dogs.

I see that she isn't spayed, and a major concern for is pyometra. This is an infection of the uterus that is fatal without treatment. Because I can't see her in person to rule out a pyo, I would take her into a vet now. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The constipation could be due to dehydration, a foreign body, not enough fiber in the diet, lack of exercise, enlarged prostate gland, a mass in the GI tract, or blocked or abscessed anal sacs. The trembling could be due to pain or fever. He also needs to be with his mommy at that age and still drink milk, Please put him back with his mother or at least raise him properly with puppy milk.
