You can actually feed the plain dehydrated carrots as treats either in slices or small pieces. They can also be rehydrated with water, boiled and then fed. The healthiest would be just to feed them without any addition of other things.

Easy snacks include raw carrots or green beans. You can also dehydrate boneless chicken breasts to use as treats and rewards. Most of the premium diets offer treats in their product lines. These brands include Royal Canin, Canidae, Acana or Orijen.

A few general recommendations: stick with well known brands with a good reputation. Look for products made in the USA. Kibble works great for treats and I use Purina Pro Plan chicken or lamb and rice. Dry biscuit type treats usually have less calories and salt. The jerky or moist type treats are fine in moderation (they have more calories and salt usually). Lastly, many dogs really like dehydrated chicken livers and chicken jerky. Hi there and thank you for using pet coach to address your concern. speaking from experience, years ago with my dog we made him a peanut butter carrot doggie cake for his 13th birthday. A simple Google search will give you multiple recipes to make this type of cake. The ingredients are safe and my dog loved the taste. Ingredients consists of peanut butter, carrots, vegetable oil, honey, whole wheat flour and egg. Obviously avoid things like chocolate, artificial sweeteners and lots of added sugar.
