Can my dog safely eat oatmeal, peanut butter, and honey as treats?

Yes, both of these foods are safe for dogs - there's no reason that you couldn't give them every day, in small amounts as a treat. Just make sure that you're not using a sugar-free brand of peanut butter, as some of these contain xylitol which is toxic for dogs. Most "regular" peanut butter brands are fine :)

A little bit of peanut butter here and there to encourage your pet to either take special medication or behave at the vet is ok to do. However I wouldn't make it a go-to treat because it is very fattening and can also lead to pancreatitis (inflamed pancreas) over time if it is given in excess. Nutmeg contains a toxin called myristicin, and toxicity can cause symptoms including hallucinations, disorientation, increased heart rate, high blood pressure, dry mouth, abdominal pain, and possibly seizures. Ingestion of large amounts of ginger can cause stomach upset and lethargy." As long as there are not large amounts of either cinnamon or pumpkin spice in the cookies, they should be fine for Princess. You are correct. Peanut butter is ok to give your pet Pocholo. However it is fattening so please use your best judgement and not give this all the time or you will surely see an increase in weight and you can end up with an obese pet. Also keep in mind that there are much safer and less caloric dog treats that you can give Pocholo instead. Because remember that peanut butter cracker sandwiches at the grocery are made for people to easily digest, not pets, which can lead to an upset stomach in some cases.

Peanut butter is not toxic and can be fed as an occasional treat to dogs. It's also good for hiding pills in if you ever need to medicate your dog. As long as your dog does not have an intolerance to peanut butter, there is no concern for feeding it. If you notice that Bear is vomiting or having diarrhea, then it will be best not to feed it. Peanut butter is fine in small amounts. Too much fat causes pancreatitis in dogs. Never give Chance sugar free peanut butter, as it may contain xylitol, which is highly toxic to dogs.
