Why is my unspayed female dog throwing up yellow and not eating?

Lola is extremely sick. I see that she is unspayed, and her symptoms could be caused by a pyometra. This is an infection of the uterus that is fatal without treatment. You have to take her into a vet immediately.

I would be very concerned about Bubbles, and take her into a vet immediately. I see that she isn't spayed, which means she can develop a life threatening infection of the uterus called a pyometra. A pyometra is fatal without treatment, and it causes vomiting, weakness, and lethargy, all signs she is showing. Without seeing her in person, I can't say for certain if she has one or not, but because of the seriousness of a pyometra I would take her into vet now. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. Vomiting is not usually a symptom of being in heat. It sounds as if she might have eaten something that either disagreed with her or something that has gotten stuck somewhere in her gastrointestinal tract. She could have been exposed to some sort of toxin or irritant in her environment or this could be early signs of another condition or disease process. She could also have a uterine infection causing these symptoms. I recommend getting her seen by your veterinarian as soon as possible. Your vet will do an exam, blood work and possibly x-rays to determine the cause of the illness and suggest an effective treatment plan. Additionally, unless she is a purebred that will improve the breed by producing offspring, I highly recommend getting her spayed once she is over her illness. This will eliminate the chance of her getting a life-threatening uterine infection and greatly reduce her chances of developing breast cancer in the future.

It sounds like something is effecting her stomach if she refuses to eat then vomit when she does. I would suspect bad inflammation in the orsophagus or stomach, or some sort of mass or ulcer causing irritation in the stomach. The best way to find out is to take her to the vet as she will need an ultrasound or xray to see the stomach.

Poor Lilly sounds like she isn't feeling well! The shaking can be due to pain and feeling unwell. There are a couple of things this could be including a GI illness, eating something rotten, a foreign body, or a pyometra. Dogs who aren't spayed are prone to developing these infections of the uterus which are fatal without treatment. I can give you a home remedy to try to see if that helps. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, she vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, her abdomen becomes enlarged, you notice a smelly discharge from her vulva, or becomes very lethargic, she will need to see a vet right away. If she does have a pyometra, that is a medical emergency and spaying her is part of the recommended treatment. Leaving it untreated is fatal. If you do have concerns that she could have a pyometra, I'd recommend taking her into a vet to be safe. I hope this helps!

If she keeps that down, you can slowly add back in her normal diet. Monitor her closely for signs of a pyometra, such as more vomiting, her belly becoming swelling, extreme lethargy, and discharge from her vagina. You can also take her temperature to monitor for fever, which would be above 102.5F. If you see any of those signs I mentioned above, take her into a vet immediately. In addition, if the vomiting continues in the absence of food, she vomiting the bland diet, she develops diarrhea, she stops drinking water and start vomiting water, or she becomes very lethargic, take her into your vet right away.
