Should I worry if I touched my puppy after using hand sanitizer?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Poodle | Female | spayed | 2 months and 26 days old | 36 lbs

I used hand sanitizer five minutes before touched my 12 weeks standard poodle pup. She seems fine so far. This accident was a hour ago. What should I do? My bad, I didn’t realize it at all.

I would not worry about petting your puppy after using hand sanitizer. The amount of alcohol that would be on your hands after this would be very minimal. Unless your dog licked a large amount hand sanitizer directly out of the bottle it shouldn't be a concern!
