Found a stray puppy with scabs. Are they contagious to my dog?

Poor Zeus! How lovely of you to take him in. It could be a skin infection or it could be an infected injury. Without seeing him in person, I can't say if it's something contagious or not. It could be any of those and yes, it could be contagious. There is no way to diagnose a skin condition just with photos. If I had to guess I would say mange is most likely but again, impossible for me to say for sure based on the photos. There are two types of mange - one is contagious, the other is not. I would quarantine this dog from all your other pets and assume she is contagious until you can get her to the vet.

This looks like a local skin infection but I cannot say for sure without seeing it in person. It could also be a type of fungal infection like ringworm which could be contagious. I would strongly recommend have your vet take a look at her so they can get her on the proper meds to help her heal. Scabs can be from a number of things including some minor skin irritation or injury that is healing. Puppy nails are very sharp, so it is possible a litter mate may have accidentally scratched your pup's head. As long as puppy is eating and acting normally, it is a good idea to just keep an eye on the spot and see if it heals. If the puppy appears sick, the area worsens, or it doesn't heal up, having a vet take a look at it is best as it could indicate a possible skin infection, or parasites that may be causing irritation.

Disinfection with hibiscrub diluted 1:10 with water used twice daily would help to clean those spots. Common bacteria that live on dogs skin are responsible for these signs so, although they can be transmitted to other dogs, I would not take her away from the puppies.
