My dog's a shy eater. How often to feed & are biscuits/milk okay?

Chicken and rice is not a balanced diet for a dog. I would feed your dogs the Pedigree only, twice a day, once in the morning and once at night. The bag of dog food will have a daily recommended allotment of food, and divide that into two equal portions. Do not give them milk, dairy causes GI upset in dogs. Best of luck.

Pedigree puppy food is fine to feed your puppy, but you don't have to mix it with water as he is old enough to eat solid food. That being said, it will do no harm to mix it with the water :-) He should eat three times a day, once in the morning, noon, and evening. Once he is six months old, he can be fed twice a day (morning and evening). I would feed him according to the instructions on the label, and divide it into three equal portions.

Your Pedigree diet should cover that - just make sure that it is formulated for puppies. Beyond that, everything else is considered a treat (carrot, apples, egg, etc). All these treats should not total more than 10% of his total intake of food in a day, although you may feed more treats during this early stage of potty and obedience training. As for feeding times, I like to feed puppies 3 times a day at this age. Over the next month, you can reduce this frequency to 2 times a day. Each time, leave out a full bowl and let him eat as much as he wants. Then take away the dish after 15 minutes. This ensures that he eats until he is full, but ensures that he doesn't get bored of his food if it is available all the time. You should start giving more exact portions of food after the age of 6 months, as their growth will slow down significantly at this point and they will be more prone to becoming overweight. Bread isn't really a great choice to feed a dog, it is quite stodgey and fattening and the gluten can upset dog's stomachs. Moreover an occasional egg is okay but they are quite fatty so shouldn't be fed all the time. With this diet your dog is likely not getting the correct balance of nutrients. I would highly recommend feeding the best complete dog food you can afford, twice a day. If you really want you can add healthy foods to the diet to supplement it.

While young small breed dogs can develop toy breed hypoglycemia, it would be rare for an adult dog to have this problem and require frequent meals. I think twice a day is probably just fine for both dogs as long as they don’t have any other medical problems.

Yes, I recommend feeding twice daily and he should have a good quality senior food. Often feeding some wet food will help him feel less hungry. You can also give a Kong toy filled with cheese spread or peanut butter which will keep him busy and may help to reduce the barking.
