Is shower steam safe for momma dog and newborn puppies in bathroom?

I think if you keep Bailey out of the room during the hair dying process, use good ventilation and then do not allow her back in that room until the smell is gone if good enough. I can't imagine her coughing from just smelling your hair so I do not think you need to avoid her. Have a great day!

Puppies are prone to getting cold, so I would only do this if it seems that it's too hot in their environment. You can start with a low amount of AC if needed and turn it up if they tolerate it well. You will know the puppies are too cold if they forming a tight huddle next to or under mom. If they are more spread out, then this would indicate that they are very warm. If you really want to take him, then I recommend carrying him into the facility. Place him in the tub, bathe him and then carry him out of the store. Do not allow him to interact with other dogs or go to the bathroom outside the store where other dogs go. Many infectious diseases are spread through the feces. I hope this information helps!

Monitoring throughout the 8 week period until the puppies are weaned is recommended, yes, although it may be difficult while you are sleeping. Having the mom and pups in your room and setting an alarm to check on them a few times a night is reasonable. If you are able to get someone to watch them that's great. Otherwise minimize the amount of time they are left alone as much as possible, and try to get a dog sitter if you will be gone more than an hour. Breeding dogs is a lot of work, and it is important to keep track of the mom and pups' progress by checking on them frequently. You could try letting your shower water run warm/hot with the door closed which will result in steam concentrating in the bathroom and possibly helping Brain's clogged nose.
