An example of a bland diet would be boiled skinless chicken breast and steamed white rice (1 part chicken to 2-3 parts rice). If the diarrhea is persisting or if her appetite decreases or if she begins vomiting then I would have her veterinarian evaluate her. It could be as simple as a dietary indiscretion, meaning he might have gotten into the trash and eaten something that didn't agree with him. If he continues to have loose stool, or starts vomiting, loses his appetite, acts lethargic, and/or develops a fever, get him in to be seen by your vet right away as this could indicate a more serious problem.

I would just keep an eye on him to make sure the loose stool clears up, you may not need to change his diet to resolve it. One teaspoon of pumpkin, especially if you have been feeding it for a while, shouldn't cause sudden diarrhea, so it may be something ese that briefly upset his stomach. If his diarrhea doesn't clear up in a day or so and/or he starts feeling sick, get him in to see your vet. Sometimes diarrhea can be a symptom of constipation, as liquid can move around a plug of hard stool.
