I have a 10 yr. old, 10lb Maltese poodle mix and for the last three mornings he's been throwing up yellow foamy mucus. He eats dry dog food twice a day not quite a cup divided, drinks his water, stools are hard and pees regularly. He does like to bury his treats outside in the dirt and then dig them up which I can't catch a most the time doing it so he's eating some dirt. Is there something I can try to stop this vomiting issue? Should he be on senior dog food?

Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Bailee. Poor gil. This vomiting isn't normal and can be a sign of a larger problem. Senior dogs can be prone to diseases such as kidney failure, heart disease, liver disease, diabetes, and cancer, all of which can cause the vomiting. Oftentimes, vomiting can be the first sign something is wrong. I'd have her seen by a vet in the morning for a physical exam, geriatric blood panel, and urinalysis. I hope this helps!
