My senior dog is vomiting whole food. Is it serious if she's normal?

Chronic vomiting is always a good reason for concern, it could be a sign of an internal disease such as a tumour, kidney failure or pancreatitis among other things, you should take Wolfie to the vet in order to get it checked, he will need to have a blood test done so the vet can gather some more information.

At her age, we definitely want to take changes like this seriously. If she's eating and drinking, breathing 10-30 breaths per minute while resting, able to get up and move around, and has normal pink gums, it doesn't sound like an emergency, but I would recommend a vet visit in the next few days if she doesn't go back to normal.

You could feed boiled chicken breast and cooked white rice and see if she feels better within 24 hours. If she doesn't want to eat that or she continues vomiting she should probably get checked out by a vet since she is an older girl. If she isn't normally bothered by thunderstorms, then it is unlikely that they would cause her to lose her appetite this morning.

Vomiting that often in an older dog that still has an appetite and is drinking water can be a sign of something stuck in the stomach or a mass. If Kruzer ate a ball, toy bone or something in the yard it may not be able to pass and may sit in the stomach causing irritation and vomiting. As this has been going on for a few weeks I recommend taking him in for abdominal X-rays. They should be able to see if the stomach is normal and if there is anything stuck in it. If he's losing weight and not feeling well then I would run a blood panel also to check his organ function. Once they have a diagnosis of the cause of the vomiting they can then proceed with treatment. If he has something stuck in the stomach sometimes surgery is needed to remove it. It sounds as Pelu is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet the first chance you get, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better. if the vet thinks it is more serious she will need a blood test and possibly an ultrasound in order to find out what is wrong.

Poor Ginger! I would take her into a vet now. It can be very serious when a senior dog is vomiting, not eating, and is extremely lethargic. She needs veterinary are now, please take her into a vet right away. Best of luck.

I would have her seen by a vet for this today, as in a senior dog this vomiting could have series causes such as liver failure, kidney failure, diabetes, and cancer among other causes. It sounds like she has vomited a fair amount over this 24 hour period, and when a dog vomits a lot, it's time to see the vet. Please take her into one today.
