Is the product Rat X really safe for pets? I don't see how it can kills rats and mice, but not kill my pets. Active ingredients: corn gluten meal 55%, sodium chloride 2%. Inert ingredients: Maltodextrin, sorbitol, wheat flour, wheat germ oil
Yes, it appears to be safe for dogs and cats. From the website: "It coats the lining of a part of the rodent’s lower gut. This coating of the “fine hairs” in the lower gut, called villi, disrupts the message system to the rodents brain causing it to stop drinking. This leads to dehydration, blood thickening, kidney dysfunction, coma and eventual death." I would still recommend that you place it in areas where your pets do not have access, and certainly not allow them to eat large quantities of this as it could cause vomiting and diarrhea.
