Is ranch dressing safe for dogs? Can it damage their liver or kidneys?

If you begin to notice that he is vomiting or having diarrhea but normal otherwise, I would recommend starting him on a bland diet for 3-5 days and then transition back to the regular diet. I would not be worried that KD will have any problems from licking the table cloth. Certainly ranch salad dressing can cause an upset stomach in dogs or cats, but they have to ingest a large amount of cause any problem. A small amount of these foods should not cause any serious issues. Some dogs may develop diarrhea or an upset stomach from new or different foods. To lessen the chance of this, I would feed him a bland diet (boiled chicken and cooked, white rice in a 1:1 ratio is a good option) for the next day or two! If he does seem to feel bad it is never a wrong idea to visit your vet! I hope this helps!

The concern is not only the sodium, but the garlic and onion powder in the ranch dip as well as the fat content of the sour cream. Too much fat can cause pancreatitis. I would take her into a vet immediately to have vomiting induced. Best of luck.

Italian dressing often contains onion or garlic, which can be toxic to dogs. Toxicity signs can be visible even after 24-48 hours since ingestion. The safest (and recommended) option is to take her to your veterinarian for a check-up. If this is not an option at this moment, please withhold food for the next 4-6 hours and then start feeding back again with some chicken and boiled rice in small portions every 4-6 hours. If the signs persist or she is displaying other signs such as diarrhea, lethargy, inappetence or more vomiting, I would suggest taking her to the nearest ER right away.

However, I don't recommend giving supplements such as this without being directed by a vet. The most important way to support Bruno's organ function is with a good high quality food, and good preventative care (disease prevention through vaccination, parasite control, etc). Milk thistle is a great liver support, but the other ingredients have limited data in dogs and, while probably safe, I would not recommend them.

As grapes and raisins are toxic to most dogs, and a cause has not been established yet, I would not give anything with grape ingredients. So personally I would not recommend this gel. If you want to give your dog a treat, boiled carrot pieces, green beans are great and healthy, and and if you want to give a commercial dental treat, Greenies are recommended.
