My dog licked a small amount of ranch dressing. Will he get sick?

If you begin to notice that he is vomiting or having diarrhea but normal otherwise, I would recommend starting him on a bland diet for 3-5 days and then transition back to the regular diet. The concern is not only the sodium, but the garlic and onion powder in the ranch dip as well as the fat content of the sour cream. Too much fat can cause pancreatitis. I would take her into a vet immediately to have vomiting induced. Best of luck.

No, I would not give Bruno ranch dressing. Two of the main ingredients in ranch dressing are garlic and onion, both of which are toxic to dogs. It is never safe to give him any amount of ranch dressing.

A small amount of these foods should not cause any serious issues. Some dogs may develop diarrhea or an upset stomach from new or different foods. To lessen the chance of this, I would feed him a bland diet (boiled chicken and cooked, white rice in a 1:1 ratio is a good option) for the next day or two! Italian dressing often contains onion or garlic, which can be toxic to dogs. Toxicity signs can be visible even after 24-48 hours since ingestion. The safest (and recommended) option is to take her to your veterinarian for a check-up. If this is not an option at this moment, please withhold food for the next 4-6 hours and then start feeding back again with some chicken and boiled rice in small portions every 4-6 hours. If the signs persist or she is displaying other signs such as diarrhea, lethargy, inappetence or more vomiting, I would suggest taking her to the nearest ER right away.
