My dog ate ranch dressing. Is a small amount safe? What should I do?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

My dog ate about a tablespoon maybe a little less or a little more of ranch. What should I do?

Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Snickers should be absolutely fine. There likely isn't enough garlic / onion to cause any major problems. If you begin to notice that he is vomiting or having diarrhea but normal otherwise, I would recommend starting him on a bland diet for 3-5 days and then transition back to the regular diet. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further.
