What rabies blood test is required for my dog or cat to travel?

I know that we charge about $150 for a Rabies titer (PA). I would call practices in your area. California has a higher standard of living than other areas. Your vet has little control over lab prices. Your Vet was probably trying to just be honest and up front that it is just cheaper to vaccinated and meant no harm. For what it’s worth a high rabies titer is not valid as proof of vaccination according to the law. It will not protect your dogs from quarantine at your cost if they bite someone. Rabies is deadly in humans and the law sadly doesn’t care about titers or over vaccination. I wish you the best!

Good question. With the vaccines she already has, she is considered to be fully vaccinated. However, just check with the state you are taking her to make sure they don't also require the FeLV vaccine as well. The pet will also need a health certificate to travel. Hello. Hexadog is a multivalent vaccine that protects a dog against 6 diseases including rabies. Rabisin only protects against rabies. So if your only requirement is to make sure your pet is vaccinated against rabies, either vaccine will be fine & will qualify to protect against rabies. Unfortunately it's not likely to increase the chances, what I usually recommend in such a case is to have the vaccine done, then have the test done two weeks later, if the results are not good then have another test done 2 weeks after that.

They can help you follow the very exact and time sensitive protocols required to transport animals from the US to other countries. If you're asking whether it's safe to vaccinate her again, it should be fine, and as you already know you don't really have any choice, as the UK requires that the microchip be in place when the rabies vaccine is given.
