Why is my 9-week-old puppy tired, not eating, and acting strange?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | unneutered | 2 months and 10 days old | 14 lbs

My 9 weeks old chocolate lab makes no noise and acts tired all the time. He isn't finishing his food anymore and all he does is wanders around the house and sit in corners.

It sounds like poor Tucker isn't feeling welling, and this could be caused by systemic illness, infection, inflammation, or injury. It's not normal for a nice week old puppy to act this way, so I would have him seen by a vet today for a health check. The vet can diagnose what is causing his symptoms so he can be treated.

He might just be stressed from the change in environment but, if it continues, it would be best to have a vet examine him to make sure he isn't sick. He could have an infection or parasite and your vet can run some tests to help diagnose. Try to offer him the same food that he has been eating and see if he will eat that.
