My puppy is throwing up foam every few minutes. What should I do?

I'm sorry to hear that Prada is not feeling well. Many things can cause vomiting in young dogs. Intestinal parasites, viral infections such as parvo, a diet sensitivity or eating something she shouldn't have such as a toy are common. If she is acting ill and cannot keep food or water down, she will need to see her veterinarian right away. If she is still acting normal, then continue to give her water, but hold her off of food for 12-18hrs. Resting the GI tract can sometimes resolve these signs. If she continues to vomit, she will need to be seen. I hope this information helps!

This is likely to be due either to dietary indiscretion or possibly to a infective gastroenteritis. I would suggest to withhold food for the next 8-12 hours and then start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 48hours. Then gradually reintroduce the normal diet over 5 days. I would definitively recommend a veterinary check up if the signs persist or you notice diarrhoea, more vomiting, lethargy or inappetence. Vomiting can be observed with conditions such as gastroenteritis, pancreatitis, dietary indiscretion, gastrointestinal foreign body ingestion and obstruction, among other possibilities. For this reason, I highly recommend that you have Diesel evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment as soon as possible as I am afraid he is likely becoming dehydrated. If Oreo is continually vomiting I would recommend taking him to a veterinarian. Puppies can get sick and decline quickly. This may not be a virus but it can be something he ate. The veterinarian will be able to provide nutritional support and rehydrate Oreo. They can also give medication to stop him from vomiting. There are many reasons why Koko could be vomiting. It can range from parasites to Parvo. It’s impossible to know what the cause is without a detailed history, a physical exam and testing for parasites and viruses. Puppies don’t have the reserves that adults and they do dehydrate and can have problems with low blood sugar which can be fatal if not treated. I recommend to have Koko visit his veterinarian to be examined. Feeding Koko a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken and boiled white plain rice can help to settle the tummy. This is definitely not normal and not likely to be due to the abdominal palpation, you need to take him back to the vet as soon as you can in order to get it treated, it could be a gastrointestinal infection or a foreign body ingestion, he will need an anti vomiting injection at the very least.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Zeus! Since he is so young and has been vomiting all morning I would make an appointment for today. WE do not like babies getting dehydrated and if they can't eat they can get low blood sugar. Causes of vomiting in puppies are: intestinal parasites, viral (especially parvo) and bacterial infections, ate something gross, foreign body causing a blockage, toxin ingestion, reaction to new food/treat/table food, food allergy or intolerance.
