Why is my 3-month puppy throwing up yellow foam with a hard tummy?

There are many reasons why Koko could be vomiting. It can range from parasites to Parvo. It’s impossible to know what the cause is without a detailed history, a physical exam and testing for parasites and viruses. Puppies don’t have the reserves that adults and they do dehydrate and can have problems with low blood sugar which can be fatal if not treated. I recommend to have Koko visit his veterinarian to be examined. Feeding Koko a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken and boiled white plain rice can help to settle the tummy. Smaller, more frequent meals are also easier on the tummy. I hope he starts feeling better quickly! Please feel free to post any additional questions.

Vomiting this frequently can be either due to something stuck in the GI tract, or a severe gastritis (inflammation of the GI tract) that can be caused by an infection such a parvo-virus or food poisoning, or just a stomach upset. If Zao hasn't stopped vomiting and isn't eating/drinking well, then I would recommend taking him to the vet. They will likely want to do x-rays to make sure nothing is blocking the GI tract if he is continuing to vomit. Otherwise they can get him medications to make him not throw up. Best of luck with Zao.

Poor Oso. Unfortunately there are a lot of different reasons that could be causing him to act like this like parasites (worms), giardia, a bacterial infection, a foreign body, an intestinal obstruction and much more. I would have your vet take a look at him since he is so small. They will likely do a fecal to look for worm eggs - you usually will not be able to see the actual worms in their poop. They may also recommend blood work or x-rays if needed. They will be able to get him on the proper meds to help him feel better. Also, I would try not to get into the habit of hand feeding him as he may get use to this and require it as he gets older for attention. I hope this helps!

Vomiting can be observed with conditions such as gastroenteritis, pancreatitis, dietary indiscretion, gastrointestinal foreign body ingestion and obstruction, among other possibilities. For this reason, I highly recommend that you have Diesel evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment as soon as possible as I am afraid he is likely becoming dehydrated. He could have an infection or a parasite causing the vomiting and diarrhea. He should be examined by a vet for treatment. Your vet can test a fecal sample to determine if he has a parasite and then prescribe medications to help treat the problem.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Bon Chon! Have you taken his temperature rectally or does he just feel warm? Anything over 103 F is a fever rectally in a dog. Since he isn't holding water and food down now he needs to see a Veterinarian. He is too young and will dehydrate quickly. Causes of vomiting in puppies are: intestinal parasites, viral (especially parvo virus if not vaccinated) and bacterial infections, ate something gross outside, ate something causing a blockage, food allergy/intolerance, reaction to a new food/treat or people food. I would have Bon Chon seen as soon as you can. I wish you the best!
