My new puppy threw up kibble and bile. Should I call the vet?

This is certainly unusual for such a young dog. I would recommend having him examined by your veterinarian. Some puppies will vomit if they have eaten too much, or ate something they shouldn't. I also see vomiting in cases of parasite infestation, so if has not been regularly wormed then he should be. Not all worms are visible in the feces, rather we can see eggs under the microscope when we complete a fecal exam. I hope this helps!

If Jordy continues to vomit, starts dry heaving, or is extremely lethargic, I would recommend taking him to an emergency clinic tonight or first thing in the morning. If he is normal the rest of the night, give him a half his normal breakfast and monitor for more vomiting. If he does continue to vomit, he'll need to go to vet. Common causes of vomiting in puppies include foreign bodies, dietary indiscretion, intestinal parasites, some metabolic disorders, and mild gastroenteritis if unknown origin. If he does end up needing to go to the vet, they will likely take some x-rays and maybe do a baseline blood work, and then treat him symptomatically if they are do not find a specific. Poor Benji! If he's only vomited once or twice, it is best to keep an eye on him. You can also offer a bland meal of boiled rice and chicken to help settle any minor GI upset. Small breeds are more prone to issues such as hypoglycemia, so making sure Benji is fed several smaller meals throughout the day instead of larger ones may help, and may also decrease vomiting so he isn't eating too much all in one meal. If he continues to vomit, or shows other signs of illness in addition to it, a vet visit is best to rule out other issues such as illnesses, parasites, foreign body ingestion, etc that can also cause vomiting.

Hi there. If this has been ongoing, it may be that Arnie is eating too quickly, or that he has a food allergy. He may also have an issue with his esophagus. I would try putting his kibble in a muffin tin to slow his eating and see if that helps. If it does not, I would have him examined by your vet for a medical cause. Good luck with Arnie! However, in puppies, vomiting can be caused by parasites and dangerous viral infections. I recommend keeping an eye on Ciroc for continued vomiting, loss of energy/appetite, and diarrhea. He could have an infection or a parasite causing the vomiting and diarrhea. He should be examined by a vet for treatment. Your vet can test a fecal sample to determine if he has a parasite and then prescribe medications to help treat the problem.

Vomiting in such a young puppy is usually something to worry about, as he could get dehydrated in a matter of hours, it's probably an infection, i would strongly recommend taking him to the vet ASAP in order to get it treated.
