My puppy's legs seem thin. Is this normal, or should I consult a vet?

But yes, in the picture they look basically symmetrical. If you have concerns about it, take him in to the vet for a physical exam to be sure.

Nothing seems abnormal based on this pictures but that does not replace a good exam. If you are worried about confirmation or a bone problem then she needs to see a vet. They can actually move her legs evaluate the joints and bones to make sure there are no problems. If indicated they can even do an X-ray although she is too youn for hip dysplasia to show up

From what i can see from the picture, Charlie looks perfectly fit and healthy. Please give us more informations (the weight would be essential) and another pic from one side to receive more specific advices from us. Hello, thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I know you say Boosie's shape shows best in this photo but it is not easy to evaluate him from it due to the angle. Without feeling him myself and just seeing him standing/walking normally it is difficult to say. I does look to me like his stifle (knee) area is thick in this photo but it could just be the way he is laying.... I do think you should take him in for a veterinary exam. If nothing else, he should be due for his 2nd round of vaccines anyway so this is a good time to do the exam. Hope this helps. Best wishes!

It sounds like Charlie has a bunch of problems at the moment. Twitching during sleep can be normal, as dogs dream and can move in response to those dreams. But the weak back legs, walking limpy, and sitting crooked isn't normal. He also could have puppy pyoderma causing the pimple. You need to take him into a vet first thing in the morning. When puppies have limb deformities or difficulties walking normally, I'm always concerned that there could be growth issues. These can be due to nutritional deficiencies, trauma, or hereditary bone or joint problems passed on by the parents. Since you've stated that he's very skinny, I'm especially concerned about his nutrition. King needs to see a vet, not just for this problem but because he needs to start getting routine vaccinations and anti-parasite medications. I suspect this is a congenital abnormality. I recommend to get Ares examined by the veterinarian. With puppies, sometimes there are treatments available since they are still developing but sometimes there are not any options. Best of luck and please feel free to post any additional questions.
