My 4-month-old puppy swallowed a ring, seems fine. What should I do?

This should be pass through the intestine without causing major problems. I would recommend to monitor Coco for the next 48hours for any sign like lethargy, inappetence, vomiting or having diarrhoea. If that was the case a check up would be ideal.

If not, then you will not need to worry about it. Intestinal transit time can vary greatly. It could pass today or tomorrow or it could be a long time. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Oh no! I would check his stools to see if they pass. If he can't pass them then the signs would be vomiting, not eating, lethargy. You can also have an X-ray taken to see if they are inside him! I hope this helps!

At this point, it is likely safe to keep an eye on Echo, but he should be evaluated by a veterinarian if he starts vomiting, has diarrhea (especially if there is blood or mucus) or trouble defecating, or stops eating/appears lethargic. These can be signs that the teething ring has created a blockage in his intestines, and it may need to be removed. It is also possible that Echo will defecate pieces of the ring within the next few days, which is normal. I would recommend feeding him normally, but not giving him any of the teething rings for the next few days. Good luck with your new puppy!

Since those pieces are small, it is safe to monitor for any GI signs such as vomiting and diarrhea, lethargy or a decreased appetite. There is a good change that can pass through and you will never notice a problem over the next 24-48 hours!
