My puppy sleeps a lot, sneezes, and shakes head. Should I worry?

He could have some allergies or possibly have an upper respiratory infection. You can monitor him for a few days and see if the sneezing resolves. If it continues, he should be examined by a vet to determine the cause. He may need an anti-histamine or antibiotic to treat. As for the sleeping, it may take him some time to adjust to his new home. As long as he seems energetic when you take him out than it is probably nothing to worry about. You could have him examined by a vet if it continues. If he's acting fairly normal otherwise (eating and drinking fine, active, etc.) you could opt to monitor him for now and see how things go for the next few days. The problem may resolve on its own, similar to when we get a minor cold or allergy flare-up. If there is no improvement in the next 2-3 days, or if your pup develops other symptoms such as coughing, thick green or yellow nasal discharge, or begins acting very lethargic or not eating, then I would recommend having him seen by a veterinarian for treatment.

Puppies do breathe a bit faster while asleep than adult dogs. An occasional sneeze or nasal drip is fine. Monitor for lethargy, decreased appetite, difficulty breathing or a yellow or green nasal discharge. See your veterinarian for an exam if any of these symptoms develop.

She may be a little sleepy from the vaccine as vaccines can cause some mild lethargy for a day. If the lethargy persists than you should call your vet and let him/her know that she is experiencing some lethargy. She may be shaking her head because of the cleaning but if it continues she should be rechecked to make sure she doesn't have an infection. She may need a topical ear medication to treat.

I'm so sorry to hear Koda is not feeling well. Being congested and sneezing could indicate he has an upper respiratory infection. Some of these dogs can cough/gag up a foamy white material as well. He could also be suffering from allergies. He will need to see his veterinarian if his symptoms persist, especially if his appetite decreases. It's most likely the illness that is causing her to act like this. It's common for puppies to get various upper respiratory infections at this age. She could have been perfectly normal last week, but she is definitely sick now, so I recommend a recheck by the veterinarian. Upper respiratory infections are often treatable and do not cause severe disease in pups, but there are a few scary diseases (i.e. Canine Distemper) that can start-out like this and become very serious later on.
