My puppy has a severe viral infection, weak and breathing heavily. Can she recover?

Yes, it is quite possible the pneumonia has not resolved. She needs urgent reassessment by a vet and further medication, possibly intravenous fluids and antibiotics in order to stabilise her condition. Such severe pneumonia in a young pup is very concerning and can be fatal due to lung scarring and collapse. It is possible there may be underlying birth defects contributing to the original condition and/or her poor response to treatment

From the sign you are describing it is quite difficult to determine the underlying problem. General signs of lethargy could be commonly due to high temperature which may be related to an infection. In puppies gastrointestinal and urinary tract infections are by far the most common type of infections. If the signs do not resolve in the next 24hours or if Luna is showing any inappetence, more evident lethargy or any other signs (vomiting and diarrhoea for example) I would strongly advice a veterinary check up.

Severe viral infection or congenital severe underlying heart disease could be responsible for the signs described. Ultrasound and ECG of the heart would be needed to confirm this clinical suspicion (of heart disease).

It sounds as Luna is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet urgently, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better. if the vet thinks it is more serious she will need a blood test and possibly an ultrasound in order to find out what is wrong.

Poor Luna! She may benefit from intravenous fluids. Have you veterinarian check some bloodwork to see if her liver or kidneys were affected. I'm really worried about Nata - you need to see a veterinarian right away. If the vet you saw earlier isn't open I'd recommend going to an emergency hospital. Nata could have low blood sugar secondary to parvovirus, or he may have aspirated from vomiting causing pneumonia and trouble breathing. It also might be that the parvovirus is causing severe dehydration or a blood infection (sepsis).
