My 2-month-old male puppy's "red lipstick" is showing. Is this normal?

Puppies this small don't have teeth to keep the tongue in the mouth, so it's common to see them sticking their tongue out a little. However, this does seem to be out a little more than normal, which may indicate that he has an overly large tongue for his snout. I wouldn't worry too much about this right now unless he is having difficulty suckling or other issues. It's definitely possible that it won't stick out as much as he ages. In the meantime, you can try keeping it clean with a dilute soap and water solution, but Brody may not like it! This type of "blushing" is normal and is no cause for concern. It is the blood vessels in the mouth responding to excitement and dilating causing the redness. When she settles, the vessels construct and color returns to normal.

Hi, I believe you are referring to pharaphamosis. The glands in the penis swell and the penis can get stuck outside the skin. This occurs in unneutered young dogs who are sexually mature. To reduce the swelling, try an ice pack wrapped in a wet towel to the groin area. Also, lubricate it with a water based lubricant and gently massage it to try to get it back in the skin. Sugar applied to the penis itself can help reduce swelling. These things should get the penis back down and normal again. If not and it is stuck outside for more than 6 hours with no improvement, he needs to go to an emergency vet or the penis could be damaged. Good luck!

In all honestly, it is very hard to make a diagnosis of dermatologic issues without actually feel the lesion, and / or collecting some diagnostic samples. At first glance, they look like eosinophilic plaques (otherwise known as rodent ulcers), which are actually much more commonly seen in cats. Since you are seeing these lesions on both sides of the mouth, it's also possible that this is something anomalous but normal in your dog. Another possibility is that your pup could have bit onto something that cause some irritation, and it is now causing something wrong symmetrically. If the areas aren't getting large and are not bothering your dog, my advise would be to leave things alone for the time being to see if there is any change. However, it wouldn't be wrong to take your dog to the vet now to have him checked over. Hope this makes sense!

Very cute puppy. It is possible that she is sticking out her tongue due to positioning of her teeth. IF she were to have malocclusion (teeth abnormally positioned) it could allow her tongue to slip out. It could also just be a puppy things she grows out of. Good luck with the puppy
