My puppy's poop has white spots and hair. Is twice a day normal?

Pet's info: Dog | Miniature Schnauzer | Male | unneutered | 7 months and 6 days old | 12 lbs

My dog used to poop right after he ate. Now I'm noticing that he just poops twice a day after long period of hours. Lile 8 or 10. Aside from human hair dangling once in a while. He just has been pooping frequently. Here are some photos of white stains or spots. He did go to the vet 3 months ago to get dewormed and stuff so I dont think that's it. Thank you for answering!

White discoloration of the stools indicates that your pet is not getting enough water intake. I would recommend either adding in canned wet food to Sal's diet or getting a pet water fountain to encourage more water intake. Hopefully this takes care of the issue. If not, then a rechk at your vet is recommended to do some baseline bloodwork and make sure all his values are normal.

He is an older puppy now, so pooping twice daily is normal at this age. I would howevere make sure you put up all brushes and keep the house free of things he can ingest that can potentially cause a blockage. I hope that Sal does well moving forward. Best of luck and take care! : )

It is safe to take the water out, though usually that does not cause soft stool. Having a small kibble can help a lot for small dogs if needed. My concern is that perhaps they have worms or something else going on? Try a good puppy Dewormer like sentry or Bayer Quad Dewormer (PetCo). Use one that is labeled for their weight and follow the package directions. Deworm everyone at the same time. And unless they are smaller than 3 lbs, it is fine to move to twice daily feedings. My puppy poops a lot, but his stool is normal. Why is this happening?

It likely is his diet. A lot of the holistic or grain free diets can cause excessive stool production. It isn't something that is a medical concern however, especially i the stools are normal consistency. Perhaps you can let him stay outside for a longer period of time so that he is allowed to completely empty his colon before coming back in. Otherwise, just keep an eye on Asian and I hope that he continues to do well. If his stools do change in consistency or have visible worms, then its best to take him to your vet for treatment. Why is my puppy pooping more after new food? Is it too much fiber?

Yes it is likely the extra fiber. No worries here whatsoever. Some puppies do poop quite a bit and 2-3 times a day is normal as long as the poop is solid. I would however, but back on the daily egg, since this is mostly just added carbs for pets and can lead to her getting overweight. Best wishes with your puppy Tasha. Take care.

My dog pooped white stuff. What could it be and is it normal?

I think it is completely unrelated to the bumps. It’s sort of hard to tell what the white thing in the stool is, however I wouldn’t be too concerned as long as he’s otherwise acting normally. It looks most like a bit of foreign material such as a piece of white crayon or something, especially if it was just the one relatively large piece of white stuff. If his stools get soft, if you are seeing increasing amounts of the white material in the stool, or he starts vomiting or acting ill, take him to your vet. My sick puppy's yellow, infrequent poop on bland diet: Normal?

His poop is bright yellow b/c of his current diet (just rice and cottage cheese). He should have some protein in there, so I would suggest adding chicken or ground turkey. Also as long as he is not straining to poop, there is no cause for concern for the fewer stools, especially since he isn't eating anything with much substance. As long as he is acting normal, there is no major cause for concern here. Slowly transition him back to his normal diet once your vet says he is good to do so, and his stools should return to normal. Is a white spot in puppy poop with watery eyes a sign of worms?

My puppy's poop is white with string. Should I worry if she's normal?

This is likely not a big ordeal especially since she is acting Norma and the poop has been normal since but I would contact your vet to see if you could have her fecal checked to ensure she doesn't have any intestinal parasites that could be causing what sounds like mucus in her poop. If this continues then I would urge you to have her examined to find the cause. I hope this helps.
