My dog pooped white stuff. What could it be and is it normal?

Pet's info: Dog | Italian Greyhound | Male | unneutered | 2 lbs

Hi I inquired earlier about two bumps in my dogs skin in conclusion it could be a few things mosquito bites a pimple etc. but he also pooped and I found this white stuff in it. Please excuse the translucent white around it as it is toilet paper but he doesn’t seem to be bothered. I’m not sure if it could be related to the bumps or something on its own and if so do you have any idea? Caution the image is sort of graphic

I think it is completely unrelated to the bumps. It’s sort of hard to tell what the white thing in the stool is, however I wouldn’t be too concerned as long as he’s otherwise acting normally. It looks most like a bit of foreign material such as a piece of white crayon or something, especially if it was just the one relatively large piece of white stuff.
If his stools get soft, if you are seeing increasing amounts of the white material in the stool, or he starts vomiting or acting ill, take him to your vet. Otherwise I think it’s fine to just keep an eye on him.

She may have eaten something she shouldn't have, like part of a bone or rocks, and these materials can look like what you're seeing in the stool. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I would worry about acholic feces which is the absence of bile in the stool. This is when the bile is retained in the blood which makes a dogs stools pale or putty colored. This can indicate an bile obstruction, liver or pancreatic disease. White stools can also be seen in dogs eating a raw food diet or a diet too high in calcium or if they ate something containing bone. If Gracie's stools continue to be white bring a sample and Gracie to the Vet for an exam. I wish you the best!

My dog's poop is off-white, but she's normal. Should I worry?

Sometimes a change in diet will cause the stool to change color. Sometimes a mild viral infection can also cause this but again, I would not worry unless she loses her appetite or becomes lethargic. Why does my dog have a white bump on his leg and a large stomach bump?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! The pictures are a little blurry and it is hard to see exactly what may be going on with Marley's skin. A white bump on the skin can be a variety of things, including a cyst, blocked skin pore, wart, or another underlying issue. The bump on his stomach I can't distinguish in the picture. I do, however, recommend all abnormal growths be evaluated by a veterinarian to determine if they are benign (non-cancerous) or not. Typically a needle sample can determine this, and if any further treatment may be needed. Good luck!

My dog has weird poop. What's causing his unusual stool changes?

I can see that some of this stool looks a little yellow and that there might be some foreign material, but otherwise it looks formed and I don't see anything concerning like blood or mucous. As long as Bo isn't straining to defecate, vomiting or not eating as well I wouldn't be concerned about his stool. The makeup probably isn't to blame since I would expect you to see changes a day or two after it was ingested, not a week later.

My puppy's poop is white with string. Should I worry if she's normal?

This is likely not a big ordeal especially since she is acting Norma and the poop has been normal since but I would contact your vet to see if you could have her fecal checked to ensure she doesn't have any intestinal parasites that could be causing what sounds like mucus in her poop. If this continues then I would urge you to have her examined to find the cause. I hope this helps.
