Why is my puppy peeing constantly after eating raisins a week ago?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

My puppy is peeing very very often. He peed 5 times in the past 10 minutes. He currently (one week ago) ate 3 raisins but we got him to vomit 2 of them. Could they have anything to do with each other?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Your puppy is adorable!

Raisins have the potential to cause kidney failure which causes the dog to act lethargic, not eat, maybe vomit and likely drink and urinate more. If your puppy isn’t doing any of those things I doubt the raisin has anything to do with it. He may have a urinary tract infection or crystals in his urine. I recommend making an appointment with your Vet for tomorrow and bring a irons sample.

I good this helps and I wish you the best!
