My puppy has loose stool for 3 days after new treat. Should I worry?

There is a possibility he has microscopic intestinal parasites. This is common in puppies and causes diarrhea. I would not change his food as that is likely to make the loose stool worse. That is odd. I recommend to have him examined by the veterinarian to look at his nerves in his hind legs, lower back and rectal tone. The vet may recommend an x-ray as well to look at the spine (sometimes tail-less breeds can have deformed vertebra and that could be pinching a nerve). A problem with the innervation of the anus could allow this to happen. You should also have the stool checked for parasites just to be safe. Make sure Jasper is being taken out for bathroom breaks every 2-3 hours. Feeding him a low residue diet like Royal Canin may also help to decrease the amount of stool he produces. These measures would help if this is a sudden urge to defecate and he can't hold it. This could also be behavioral and related to excitement/submission though this would be highly unusual. Most commonly, puppies will urinate and they typically outgrow it. It's good that you provided a picture, because diarrhea and vomiting can range in severity. The picture shows that the stool is dark and has some redness. This indicates bleeding in the intestines and is something that I would want to give treatment for, so unfortunately, I do think you should take Jasper to a vet. If you explain to the vet that money is a concern, then they can likely provide basic treatment that could fix Jasper for a small cost. This could be from intestinal parasites or dietary related. I would bring a fecal sample in to a veterinarian and have them check for intestinal parasites so that the most appropriate treatment can be given. If the stool is negative for parasites then I would begin a bland diet of chicken and rice until the stool returns to normal and then transition back over a 7 day period to a different dog food such as science diet or royal canin. If a dog is going to suffer a vaccine reaction, it typically occurs the same day as the vaccination. So this is likely unrelated. He may be experiencing GI upset secondary to all the new treats. I would stop those for now. Being so young and small, he should see his veterinarian if symptoms persist. In the meantime, encourage him to eat and drink small amounts. If it was done on his first visit, it may be repeated or additional tests recommended. Depending on his results, medication will likely be prescribed. She will likely need fecal testing and a medication to clear it up. As you mentioned, she could have acquired a parasite. She also could have ingested something that upset her stomach either on your walk, a scrap of human food or a new dog treat. When this occurs and diarrhea results, a secondary bacterial overgrowth can occur. This perpetuates the diarrhea and an antibiotic is usually necessary. If the testing does reveal a cause and the diarrhea recurs after treatment, then I would consider a diet change. In the meantime, offer her plenty of water so that she does not become dehydrated.
