My puppy licked bloody cat poop. Is it dangerous? What to do?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Female | unspayed | 4 months and 5 days old | 30 lbs

I’m so scared right now, while walking my dog she licked a puddle of feces ( I believe it belonged to a cat since this back area is populated by them ) and it had some blood in it It was only a small lick and I put her in her cage since we got home but I’m extremely scared right now, I don’t have a vet or clinic to call

There is very little you can do other than watch your dog for a few days. Should she get diarrhea, then I would take her to a veterinarian for an exam. There are not that many types of bacteria that your dog can pick up from that and get diarrhea herself.
