Puppy jaw clicking, blood on toy, excessive chewing. What's wrong?

Puppies are teething from 3 to 6 months of age, so It's common to see traces of blood on toys and chew items during this time. As long as Nala Jai is acting normal otherwise, this is likely normal and not a cause for concern :) If you're worried, you can always take her in to your vet for a quick check-up to make sure that nothing else is wrong.

Puppies are in the process of teething from 12 weeks to 6-7 months of age, so it's completely normal to see an occasional baby tooth with a bloody root on the floor during this time :) Often, there will also be small streaks of blood on toys or chew items - this is because the pup's gums are bleeding a little, and is also normal. All of his adult teeth should be coming in within the next 2-4 weeks, so after that the problem should resolve on its own.

I can’t be totally certain but the picture appears that the little front teeth (incisors) are adult teeth. But the canines are baby teeth. And by the looks of the little bulges, the adult canines will be erupting soon. Long story short, this was going to happen to this baby canine sooner or later anyway!. It does not hurt very much at all and will probably fall out completely (or he’ll swallow it) in the next day or so. There is no way you’d be able to knock out an adult canine with a rope toy. Your dog is likely teething now, ie losing his deciduous teeth and getting his permanent teeth. So losing a tooth while play-biting is quite normal. If the tooth is ready to come out and bothering him, biting something will help remove it.

Hachi is adorable! Most dogs do stop teething by 6 months, but certain dogs may take up to 8-10 months for the adult teeth to fully erupt. While the teeth erupt through the gums, it is normal for their to be a small amount of blood. To teach Hachi that biting is not okay, I recommend saying "no!" immediately when he starts biting. You should then ignore Hachi, and only resume playing when he is calm. You can also try a spray bottle with water to wet Hachi's face if the biting continues. Jasper will be losing his baby teeth for about another 6 weeks (until he is 6 months old). His adult teeth are currently pushing out his baby teeth, so his gums are more sensitive and easier to bleed right now. If the bleeding continues after his adult teeth are all in, I would certainly recommend having your veterinarian examine his gums to make sure they are healthy. Good luck! Thank you for submitting your question regarding Azumi. I recommend that she sees her veterinarian today. She could have a loose tooth as you mentioned, but most puppies do not have such trouble. Her mouth needs to be evaluated to see if she has a wound or a foreign object stuck in there. I have seen dogs with pieces of plastic, fabric or even toys lodged in their mouths.
