How much homemade chicken, rice, veggies for my 4-month-old pup?

I think it is perfectly fine to feed him twice a day. I would feed him about 1.5 to 2 cups twice a day depending on how active he is. If you want to give him some of the human food supplements, that is fine but I would not make it his main diet as that doesn't have all the vitamins and minerals that he needs. i hope this helps.

You could add some meat or chicken to your puppies dog food but your puppy needs to have some dog food because it is nutritionally balanced for a puppy. Feeding just meat/ chicken and rice is not recommended because your puppy would not be getting the proper nutrition. Keep in mind that it is recommended to give a protein with a carbohydrate such as rice which then would lower the amount of chicken. You can always check the calories in whatever you decide to feed him knowing that it should be about 465 calories. Good luck!

Hi there. I calculate Diesel’s Caloric need at about 1300 calories per day. On average a cup of white rice is about 200 calories and a cup of boiled chicken breast is around 200 calories as well, so if he is getting 3 cups of each a day that is about 1200 calories, so he needs just a bit more. A pet this size should be eating approximately 2-2.5 cups of food a day. That can translate to cooked and chopped chicken as well. Howver the meal needs to be balanced with vegetables.
