Dog indigestion: How much chicken is enough for my 44lb dog?

Pet's info: Dog | Japanese Spitz | Male | unneutered | 44 lbs

I have a Japanese spitz and he had a little indigestion problem lately. So the doc said keep a limit to what he eats and also recommended chicken legs bt is 4 legs a day enough? He's 8 and weights around 20 kgs

A pet this size should be eating approximately 2-2.5 cups of food a day. That can translate to cooked and chopped chicken as well. Howver the meal needs to be balanced with vegetables. Basically you just have to check how many calories the meat you are feeding him has and calculate his daily intake from there. My puppy has an upset stomach. How much chicken and rice to feed?

I typically recommend by 1 part chicken to 3 parts white rice. Give your dog a couple tablespoons, every few hours to start, and work up to about 1/4 cup every 4-6 hours as she tolerates things better. When your dog is eating well, start adding her dry food. If her signs don't resolve than she should be examined by a vet. She could have an infection or a parasite and your vet can prescribe medications to help.

Hi there. I calculate Diesel’s Caloric need at about 1300 calories per day. On average a cup of white rice is about 200 calories and a cup of boiled chicken breast is around 200 calories as well, so if he is getting 3 cups of each a day that is about 1200 calories, so he needs just a bit more.
