My 2-month-old poodle puppy fell from bed and cried. Is she okay?

They will yelp and whine when something is painful enough. The fact that she didn't do this is a good sign that she did not hurt herself too bad. I would not expect any broken bones or torn soft tissue from a fall at this height, but it's good to watch for any signs of a significant injury. Signs of a broken bone would be swelling and a great deal of pain. With a broken bone in the leg, they will limp and not put any weight on the limb. With a broken jaw, they often hold their mouth open and do not want to eat or drink. Less severe injuries will result in less severe immobility, but should be seen by a vet if the signs of injury last longer than 24 hours. In order to comment on the curved joint, I would need to evaluate her in- person. However, this is a good question to ask your vet the next time she goes for an exam. Purebreeds are more likely to have skeletal abnormalities and it's possible that this is a fixable problem. It's also possible that this is normal for her breed. Poor Naila! I'm glad to hear that she is playing and active after the fall. Fortunately, falling from the couch is a relatively short distance. At this point, since Naila is active with no signs of pain or injury, there is nothing you need to do. However, closely watch her over the next day or so to make sure she continues moving around normally, acting normally, and is eating and drinking appropriately. If you observe any changes, she should see a vet for an exam. I hope that all goes well!

Puppies are very resilient so Pi is probably fine. He would show a problem right away if he was injured. He certainly can get injured from falling so I would make sure he isn’t able to fall off the bed again or from someone’s arms. He could get a head or neck injury or break a bone so please be careful. If she cries out again or appears to limp, having trouble walking, pants excessively, becomes lethargic, or has a decrease in appetite, then I would recommend she see her veterinarian as soon as possible. Your vet will do a hands on exam and may recommend x-rays to help determine if there is any damage to the bone structure or internal organs.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! She should be fine! Especially since she didn't cry, isn't limiting and is acting fine. Sometimes they will feel sore the next day. So I would watch for limping, stiffness or lethargy. But I would be surprised if she shows any symptoms. Good luck!

If it just started you can let her rest for a few days with minimal walking and minimal physical exercise, if it does not improve within 3-4 days you will have to take her to the vet in order to get it checked and treated, she might need pain killers for a few days. if the vet think it's something more serious such as a fracture, joint injury or foreign body, he might recommend to have an xray done as well.
