My 4-week-old puppy's hind legs drag. Is this normal? What to do?

Hello. This pup has a deformity that involves the joints of the rear legs. You should have your veterinarian assess the puppy immediately and see if there is a way to tape or wrap them to help. This will probably not correct in its own without some type of support wrap and physical therapy and even then it may not get better. Please have your vet examine the puppy ASAP. I suspect this is a congenital abnormality. I recommend to get Ares examined by the veterinarian. With puppies, sometimes there are treatments available since they are still developing but sometimes there are not any options. Best of luck and please feel free to post any additional questions.

I would suggest taking Aurora's pup for a vet exam. It could be a congesnital disorder or the pup may have been injuries inadvertently if Aurora sat on her or moved her. The earlier treatment instituted in some of these cases the better the chance the pup will have normal function.

I hate to hear the puppies are having problems. The puppies need to be examined by the veterinarian within the next day. This could be related to a congenital problem, parasites, a brain infection or inappropriate environment. Yes, he should be checked by your veterinarian ASAP. This is not normal behavior for a puppy. He may be sick, anemic, have a low blood sugar or have suffered some kind of injury. Due to his very young age, he could decline quickly and the sooner he is checked, the better.

No, this isn't normal. I see that Gretchen in a Dachshund, and they can commonly have issues with their spine that come on suddenly. I would consider this a medical emergency, and she needs to see a vet now. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. If you are able to, I would recommend having a veterinarian examine him so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made.
