Why are my puppies dragging their hind legs and holding them stiff?

No, this isn't normal and this puppy needs to see a vet as soon as possible for this problem. It needs to be corrected now or it could be permanent. Please take him into a vet right away. Best of luck

If they are all experiencing this, I would be concerned it could be something contagious such as distemper or they may have gotten into something toxic. I think this is a medical emergency, and I feel they should all go to a vet immediately. Please take them into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. I would suggest taking Aurora's pup for a vet exam. It could be a congesnital disorder or the pup may have been injuries inadvertently if Aurora sat on her or moved her. The earlier treatment instituted in some of these cases the better the chance the pup will have normal function.

By his posture I am very worried about his back. I Am concerned that his spinal cord may be damaged. It also could be an infectious cause such as rabies or a parasite called neospora. Or even meningitis. He needs to be examined by a veterinarian to decide what the best course of treatment is and to make sure that you and your family are not at risk. Dragging the hind legs is not normal but they will stumble since they are learning to walk. There could be many different causes for weakness in the hind legs, ranging from a problem with the bones due to development, injury, dietary deficiency; or a neurological issue such as a compression of the spinal cord due to a herniated disk, a spinal embolism, infection, tick borne diseases, and more. An examination is needed to determine the causative agent and start treatment.
