My puppy was attacked by a dog and won't stop crying. What can I do?

Given his age, he should be physically examined by your veterinarian. It is possible he was bitten or scratched and now has pain or infection associated with the wound. Coax him into a carrier using a favorite snack and have him seen today if possible.

By your description, he likely needs veterinary attention. If there is a rescue service or Animal Control service, you could contact them to get the puppy. If you take him to a veterinarian, you may be financially responsible for his medical care. The ear should be evaluated, cleaned and treated as indicated. The pup may need antibiotics and pain management. He will probably need to be kept indoors during treatment and until he recovers.

Excessive crying can be a sign of a health issue, so I would have him seen by a vet immediately (take along his mother and siblings as well). You need to take CoCo into a vet immediately. Given how small and young she is and how big the dog is that attacked her, she could easily have internal injuries. In addition, she is likely in pain and there are no OTC pain medications you can give. Many human ones are toxic to dogs and can be fatal if given. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. Poor Rex! It sounds like he is quite sore. If he doesn't want to stand, and is whining and crying, then he needs to be seen by a vet as soon as possible. He'll need to be examined as he may have a fracture in the leg which is why he is in so much pain, or could have damages nerves in the leg. Once the vet has isolated where the pain is coming from then they may want to do X-rays in order to figure out exactly why Rex is so sore.

Your puppy looks like it is in serious pain. The eye also looks involved and it is possible the other dog bit your puppy behind the eye lid, which could be a reason for the blood from the nose. It would be best to have your puppy seen by a veterinarian preferably tonight. Brandy will need an exam to verify there is no eye damage, fracture of any of the facial bones. She will need prescription antibiotics, and pain medicine. This will likely swell up seriously and may also impede her breathing if there is an injury to the respiratory tract in the head.
