Why does my puppy cry and run when touched after cat attack?

If Rhino won't stop crying, that suggests he is in pain. He could have internal injuries from the attack. The only way to know for sure is to have him seen by a vet, and I think he should see one now. Please take him into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. He is probably still sore. If he’s playful and eating I would just give him a few more days to heal. Puppies generally heal quickly. If the pain continues more than another few days or he’s not acting right please take him in for an exam and treatment. It could be that he was hurt by this mama cat. Queens can be very protective over her kittens. Rest him tonight, and if he's still acting this way in the morning, have him seen by a vet. Best of luck.

Some pets will display similar behavior if they are experiencing pain of the neck/back, abdomen, or mouth (dental). You are correct that these types of reactions can be due to severe anxiety, but this would most likely not affect his appetite and attitude when people are not interacting with him. I would recommend having him thoroughly evaluated by his veterinarian to see if the pain can be localized. Based on the physical examination findings, additional diagnostics may be recommended (complete blood count, serum chemistry, urinalysis), and treatments can be tailored based on findings.

Cub is such a cutie! I'm sorry to hear he is not feeling himself. If he is crying and has a poor appetite, I worry that he is in pain somewhere. His behavior toward your other dog may be his way of showing stress. I would definitely recommend that he be assessed by your family vet soon. Hello, sorry to hear about Kona. He may be having back or neck pain associated with a disk injury. If you think he is in severe pain then he should be seen immediately by a veterinarian to determine the source of his pain. However if you think he can hold until Monday then he may be able to see his veterinarian when they open up. In the interim, please keep him quiet, rested and exercise restricted. That is no jumping, running, playing, or going up/down stairs. Keep him low to the ground and in his kennel for the next 2-3 weeks. When picking him up, keep him in a horizontal position to decrease pressure on his back and neck. Hope this helps and best of luck.

Ideally, I would take him on in. If he is painful enough that he's trying to bite you, getting him in sooner rather than later will get him some relief. If he is still eating and drinking, and he's able to walk comfortably, its reasonable to wait a few days and see if it gets better, and I understand holding off it that makes more sense in your situation, but if its not a financial strain or logistically really difficult, I would go ahead a take him in rather than waiting.
