My chihuahua puppy was attacked by a husky, now she's sore. What next?

I am sorry to hear about Chichi. Sometimes bruising is not immediately obvious. If Chichi is acting lethargic, having trouble breathing, is painful, is not eating or having vomiting, then an exam at the vet would be recommended. If she seems completely fine, I would check her gums to ensure they are pink and check her regularly the next few days for new bruises, pale gums, or the appearance of pinpoint red spots on her gums or skin which can be a sign of a bleeding disorder. If anything like this develops she should see the vet as well.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! It is very important that she is evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. This is quite concerning. Keep in mind that most dog attacks to small dogs cause a lot of trauma and most of the time there is much more trauma inside than what you can see from the outside. They would be able to examine her more closely and proceed with therapy accordingly. At the very least they can proceed with pain control medications as she is likely painful which is why she is not eating well. I am hoping for a full recovery!

Oh no, poor Hailey! I'm so sorry she was attacked by a coyote. This is a medical emergency, and she has to see a vet now. Coyotes have very strong bites, and she could have internal damage from the attack. This will also be very painful for her. Given that she is up to date on her rabies vaccine, I'm not concerned about that but I am concerned about internal injuries and pain. She needs veterinary care now, please take her into vet right away.

Given his age, he should be physically examined by your veterinarian. It is possible he was bitten or scratched and now has pain or infection associated with the wound. Coax him into a carrier using a favorite snack and have him seen today if possible.

If Rhino won't stop crying, that suggests he is in pain. He could have internal injuries from the attack. The only way to know for sure is to have him seen by a vet, and I think he should see one now. I am sorry to hear about Coco. Unfortunately this area does look infected and she needs antibiotics to treat the infection. She also may need her rabies vaccine boostered if she hasn't had one recently. In some areas there are humane society/ animal protective league/ aspca locations that offer veterinary care at reduced prices, so you can look to see if anything like that is available in your area. If they are not, you can call different vet clinics to see if any allow payment plans or you can apply for Care Credit which is a credit card for medical bills. If Coco is otherwise normal and there is no indication she is experiencing any pain, no real need to rush off to the veterinarian. However, if you notice she is tender or painful to the touch on the side of the collision, is experiencing breathing abnormalities, becomes lethargic or has a sudden decrease in appetite, I would recommend bringing her in to see her veterinarian for an exam and perhaps x-rays.
