Injured stray puppy's ear is hurting, he's crying. How can I help?

Oh my. Poor guy. Unfortunately this ear has a hole through it and is badly infected. He needs to see a doctor for proper care of this ear and prescribed antibiotics as well as have suturing of the laceration. This cannot be treated at home with much success. For now you can try cleaning it with Betadine diluted 50:50 with warm water to help prevent further infection, but please schedule an appt with your vet right away or if he does no belong to anyone in particular, then he should be surrender to an animal shelter so that they can use their resources there to try and save this pets ear and eye. It may have a soft tissue injury such as sprain or strain in the foot and that is why he is limping and crying, or there may have been an injury and he has a broken bone in the leg. If you can safely catch him, you can get him to a vet for an exam to see what is wrong then you will likely have to keep him inside to heal so he can be confined as rest is the best option for injuries

I think it will be fine to try and treat this at home for now (even though we don't know the cause), but would recommend a visit to the vet if: 1) It doesn't get better in 2 weeks 2) It starts to get worse or have a lot of discharge. Keeping the wound clean and keeping it covered are the key treatments for success in getting this wound to heal as soon as possible. For this, I recommend the following: 1) Wash/spray the area with just cool, clean water (no soap or other antiseptics) for at least 2 minutes at a time. Do this once a day. 2) Bandage the wound with gauze and apply an over-the-counter antibacterial cream (i.e Neosporin) to the wound. You can help keep the bandage on by placing a good (really sticky) tape above and below the bandage. NOTE: Be careful not to bandage too tight or it can cut-off the circulation. If you notice that the neck/chin area start to swell, then remove the bandage and leave it off until the swelling goes down. These types of lesions tend to take a while to heal, so don't be surprised if its not completely healed until a month later. Once the skin looks normal you can stop the cleaning/bandaging. Hello. I am sure this must hurt, but you do need to try & clean things up the best you can until she is seen by a veterinarian. You can just gently clean the wound with warm water. If you have any skin antiseptic like Hibiclens ( available at all pharmacies ) then clean things up with this. Do not use soap as you will have a tough time getting all the soap out of her coat. It could be that Jax is suffering from an ear infection. This would be painful to him, and it would cause him to touch his ear. In dogs, ear infections can be caused by yeast, bacteria, or ear mites, and the cause of the infection needs to be diagnosed so it can be treated correctly. Only the vet can do this, so I would take him into the vet on Monday to have his ear examined, diagnosed, and treated. Best of luck, I hope this helps!

If Rhino won't stop crying, that suggests he is in pain. He could have internal injuries from the attack. The only way to know for sure is to have him seen by a vet, and I think he should see one now. Please take him into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. It would be a good idea to have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment.
