Puppy suddenly fears crate after paw stuck. How to regain confidence?

I'm sorry Luna is having trouble crate training. I would try to make it as pleasant an experience as possible, such as rewarding her for going in the crate and sitting quietly. You can also put her in there during times you aren't actually leaving, and then reward her when you come back and let her out so that she knows you will always return. It may also just take some time and her getting older to be more comfortable by herself. Good luck!

The first thing to do is have Lola checked by the veterinarian for pain. It's possible she still has pain, it waking her up, then she's distressed. If a medical cause is ruled out, start feeding Lola in her crate and leave treats in there for her to "find". This will create a positive association and should help re-adjust her to the crate. Puppies learn to explore with their mouth. Luckily she is young and can be trained with patience and consistency. First, make sure you have lots of treats handy. Second, have lots of toys handy. When you are playing with Luna and she starts to bite you, make a high pitched squeal. When she stops biting, tell her good girl and give her a treat or toy. When she chews on the toy, tell her shes a good girl. She will get the hang of it. For the crate, you need to get her used to it slowly. When you are home, feed her in there without closing the door. Put treats and toys in there so she can come and go when she likes. Slowly build up to closing the door for short periods. Give treats when shes calm inside the crate. At night, put something in there that smells like you. Be tough, don't crack before she does. Basic training at PetCo is a great idea! Good luck and congrats on your new baby. Sending kisses!

I hate to hear that about Paisley. This is an instance where clicker training can be immensely beneficial. You will need either really high value treats or a really high value toy. Once she knows that the clicker sound means a reward is coming, start by having her in the crate and you sit near the opening. Hold the reward toward her but don’t look directly at her (looking at them can be intimidating). As soon as she makes any motion toward the reward, click and treat her. She will gain confidence and you will work on drawing her further and further out of the crate. This is going to be a slow process to have patience and don’t get frustrated. I would recommend providing plenty of toys for her in the kennel and even consider using products such as the Adaptil collar and NaturVet Quiet Moments calm chews with Melatonin, which can be found at your local Petco. Poor Luna! I'm sorry to hear that she has been so anxious since the fire this weekend. Try to determine what may be a high-value reward to her, be it a special treat or toy and try to use this object to coax her inside. A calming pheromone collar (here is one example: https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/adaptil-adjustable-calming-dog-collar) can be helpful in some stressful situations. Ultimately, time, patience and rewarding positive behavior (i.e. she walked closer to the door today than she did yesterday) will be the best way to slowly remedy this situation. If she seems anxious inside of the house or is still having issues coming through the door in a few weeks, it may be worth discussing anxiety medications with Luna's vet. There is not necessarily a magic trick to make them stay in the crate without complaining about it. What I find helpful is to reward them for being in the crate. I like to give them a long lasting chew or treat (such as peanut butter) right when you get her inside (not when she complains). She will then associate the crate with something positive which may help make this more ok. This should help. Have a good day!
