Can my 9-week-old puppy safely chew on a raw carrot for teething?

Sweet picture! I would not worry about giving vegetable if you feed a good commercial puppy diet. For chewing purposes, a small Kong toy with frozen peanut butter may do the trick. If you want to give treats that are veggies, try frozen green beans. I hope Toffe will be a great companion!

Carrots are ok for dogs to eat, as well as a small amount of coconut. Too much of either could cause gastric upset. I do not recommend letting him eat any of the outside coconut shell as there is a chance it could cause stomach upset, as well as an obstruction.

In minimal quantity it could be fine, but be aware they may cause diarrhoea and stomach upset. It would be best to getting him used to carrots and similar healthy treats which can be then used for training as well.

Stick with peas, carrots, green beans, blue berries, apples and bananas. Some dogs also like zucchini and pumpkin. Fresh, frozen, canned (no salt added) or cooked (no spices/oil) are all fine. I hope this helps.

I would recommend giving her only dog specific treats, no bones (cooked or uncooked), or rawhides. There's a wide variety of dog treats available, but I personally like dental treats, such as Greenies or Denta Chews. Do not give her any human foods, as many are toxic to dogs. It's ok to do, but monitor closely to make sure he plays with it appropriately and doesn't eat it. It should be large enough that he's chewing on a rounded edge rather than a flat surface (which can break this teeth).

Hi there. Frozen/mashed/microwaved/raw/ or any other way you prepare it peas and carrots will be fine for your dog. Avoid toxic vegetables like onion and garlic, and don't serve with butter or other fatty oils or foods. Vegetables like peas and carrots are a great treat for your dog. Her teeth will crush it up so you don't have to mash it, and if she doesn't have any teeth cut it into small pieces so she doesn't choke, but the stomach acid will do the rest.
