My 12-week-old puppy has a bump. Should I take her to the vet?

Thanks for the image. That could be an area of trauma or irritation. It may also be some localized infection (bacterial or fungal) or maybe a papillomatous growth (wart). If he is licking or chewing at the area, place an e-collar (cone) on him and schedule an exam with your veterinarian. If the spot is not bothering him and he is behaving normally otherwise, you can choose to monitor it at home for rapid change or growth, bleeding, discharge or discomfort. Should any of these symptoms develop, an exam with your veterinarian would be required to definitively diagnose the underlying cause. Any treatment will depend on the diagnosis.

Daisy sure is cute!! So sorry she is having this issue. That looks like an open wound that is oozing. The lump could be an abscess or cyst that has ruptured. I would not consider this an emergency but I would try to take her in for an exam during your vet's regular business hours. It is very hard for me to tell much without seeing her in person. From the picture, it looks as though Ruby may have some pustules on her abdomen. These most commonly occur as a sign of a bacterial skin infection, which could occur secondary to excessive licking or chewing, allergies (although this would be highly unusual in such a young pup), or other issues. I do recommend taking Ruby to her vet for an exam, but this is not an emergency that necessarily needs to be treated this weekend. I hope this helps and that all goes well for Ruby!

You should clean the skin with antiseptic solution twice daily for 3-4 days (for example 4% chlorhexidine). If the bump / blister ( it almost look like inflamed nipple on the picture you posted) does not get better or if it starts to bother Apollo, you should take him to your local vets for an appointment

This very localized lump could be due to a trauma and inflammation/exudation of fluid under the skin in between muscles. Unfortunately it is diffiuclt to be more specific than that without having a feel during physical examination. I would recommend an immediate check up to confirm this clinical suspicion and treat accordingly. I see what you mean about the bumps on Lola! It looks like she could have hives, and that can be caused by an allergic reaction. I do recommend a visit to the ER vet now, as allergic reactions can quickly progress and cause serious problems such as respiratory distress. It's best she is treated now to prevent this from happening, so yes, please take her to an ER vet. Best of luck!

First of all, I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your pup. It's never easy, no matter how old they are. The bump you are seeing on Noah could be a mass, or it could be a skin lesion caused by bacterial, parasitic or fungal infection, dietary or environmental allergies or sensitivities, or could be a combination of the above. I recommend making an appointment to have Noah seen by your veterinarian to help determine the cause of the bump you’ve noticed and to make sure it is treated appropriately. The vet will likely want to look at a sample from the area under the microscope to determine what is causing the bump and to provide treatment. Hopefully it is something benign or easily treatable, but I always recommend getting any new lumps or bumps checked, as it is not possible to tell without further testing, and it's always good to be cautious.
