Sudden bump on my puppy's tummy, but she acts normal. Should I worry?

Hello, that looks like it could either be a local reaction to something like a bug bite. Other causes such as sterile abscess or cyst from a hair follicle or skin glands can also cause this. If it is painful or is continues to grow in the next couple of hours then I would have it evaluated by a veterinarian today. Otherwise, you can apply an ice pack or bag of frozen peas wrapped in a thin cloth over the area to see if the swelling decreases. If if doesn't or if is worse by the morning then you should have it assessed by you veterinarian tomorrow. Hope this helps and best of luck.

This lump/growth should be ideally examined by your veterinarian to have a definitive diagnosis. Your vet will examine it and possibly perform with an FNA (fine needle aspiration) or a biopsy. Differentials would include skin cyst, infections or benign or malignant type of tumors. This may be a hernia, which can occur in this area of the body (inguinal area). These are common in small puppies. I would recommend taking him in to your vet within the next couple of days to confirm this. Also you have the option of sharing a picture with either myself or another expert via consultation. Other possible causes for a lump is an inflammatory reaction (usually red), abscess (usually warm to the touch and may be painful, caused by trauma), or a seroma (blood filled sac due to trauma).

This is just a small vesicle possibly a single hair follicle that got infected. Nothing to be worried about unless you notice more of those around that area. Disinfection can eventually be started at home with very diluted hibiscrub or betadine or salted water baths. Buster collar may be useful as well to avoid any licking (if any). In the picture, it appears that the affected skin is bumpy and then there is quite a bit of redness around the edge. It’s possible that it could be a wart-like growth, but because of the amount of inflammation (causing the redness) going on, I would recommend taking Mac to the vet for a closer look. The vet will also look closely at all of Mac’s other skin (and mouth and other mucous membranes) to see if there are any other affected areas. They may be able to diagnose or have a better guess as to what’s going on, and discuss treatment options if any need to happen. Until he sees the vet, it would be helpful to have him wear an e-collar/cone so he can’t lick the area anymore. Licking will increase the inflammation and can skew how the vet evaluates the area. You are correct that lipomas generally grow very slowly. I recommend to have Jackson examined today. A rapidly growing bump is worrisome for an abscess, a foreign body reaction, an infected cyst or an aggressive cancer. Protect the area from licking by having Jackson wear an elizabethan collar at all times. Protect the area from trauma and have him examined today by the veterinarian. I hope this helps.
